In a world of constant disruption, organisational success demands more than efficiency—it requires genuine adaptability woven into your structure, culture, and leadership practices. The Adaptive Organisations: System Design workshop equips leaders, change management professionals, and transformation specialists with a practical framework for building resilient, responsive organisations that thrive in complexity. Rather than isolated theory, you’ll engage with real organisational scenarios, designing structural changes and leadership experiments specific to your own context.

Over this 2-day learning journey, you’ll progress through integrated modules that build comprehensive organisational design and adaptive leadership capabilities. You’ll begin by establishing foundational adaptive thinking and organisational models, then move through end-to-end redesign and structural alignment before culminating in collaborative leadership practices that sustain continuous transformation.
Throughout the workshop, you’ll explore contemporary organisational challenges including AI-enabled decision-making, distributed team structures, and rapid feedback cycles. You’ll develop the strategic thinking needed to turn rapid change into your competitive edge, discovering how to design structures that win and lead teams that genuinely adapt. By completing this AO-SD workshop, you’ll return to your organisation equipped with proven frameworks, tested methodologies, and the confidence to architect transformational change.
Modules
The AO-SD Learning Objectives fall into the following main categories:
- Adaptiveness by Design: Navigate Change and Activate Strategy
- End-to-End Organizational Design: Structuring for Business Continuity and Adaptiveness
- Aligning Strengths: From Silos to Product Accountability
- Cultivating Adaptiveness through Collaborative Leadership
Each module builds on the previous, creating a coherent pathway from foundational concepts to applied mastery. We apply concepts based on “Training from the Back of the Room” (TBR) to provide a concise and practical training. The course is conceptualised to engage participants with plenty of interaction that bring topics alive: exploring metaphors, drawings, open question, and participants’ feedback.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND…?
This workshop is designed for senior leaders, executives, and transformation specialists who recognise that organisational success in today’s volatile environment demands more than incremental improvements. If you lead teams or drive change initiatives, and you’re frustrated by rigid hierarchies that slow decision-making and inhibit innovation, this learning journey will equip you with practical frameworks to redesign your structures for genuine adaptability. You’ll benefit most if you’re ready to challenge conventional organisational models and have the influence to implement structural change.
Change management professionals, heads of transformation, and strategic leaders responsible for organisational redesign will find particular value in Adaptive Organisations: System Design. The workshop moves beyond theory, grounding adaptive leadership principles in real-world scenarios so you can return to your organisation with actionable design changes.

Whether you’re restructuring departments, implementing new ways of working, or building a culture of continuous adaptation, this workshop provides the integrated framework to align structure, culture, and leadership practice.
You’ll get the most from this workshop if you bring an open mindset towards transformation and a genuine curiosity about organisational dynamics. Formal agile or change management experience is not required—what matters is your commitment to building organisations that thrive in complexity and your willingness to explore how adaptive thinking reshapes the way teams are led and structured.
